A photo a week: Scenes from Singapore in 2011

Celebrations are an important part of all cultures, and what is interesting about someone like me who loves to observe capture some of these nuances of local celebrations, is the tendency for some of these local celebrations to be part of something even larger. Perhaps it is one way for social engineering to take place, albeit in a slow, subtle, yet celebratory manner.

Just love how a simple patterned fold can become a thing of beauty when laid out like this, and on a wall no less. Love how the shadows just created that 'scaly' effect and perspective on an otherwise staid and empty space/wall!
